Recognition at IFFI Brings Reassurance for Director M.B. Padmakumar

M.B. Padmakumar’s experimental drama Roopantharam has been chosen as one of three Malayalam feature films for the Indian Panorama at the 47th IFFI. Starring Kochu Preman as a visually impaired man adjusting to life after eye surgery,the movie explores the concept that sight is more about emotion than physical organs. Shot within just eight days in Thiruvananthapuram on a viable budget, the filmmaker deliberately utilized darker frames to reflect the protagonist's world. Padmakumar expressed deep relief and vindication, noting that the jury's selection from dozens of entries gives him renewed creative momentum.
